Cart on a Ramp - Digital Movie Analysis

A digital movie camera was used to record the motion of a Pasco cart on a ramp. By marking the distance on the ramp, it is possible to digitally superimpose a ruler over the image and use pixel location of the image to determine the carts position. Each bar on the scale is 10 cm. The digital camera took images every 20/100 of a second. Time position and time are shown on each image. Record the time and position. Convert the position to meters. Enter the data into a graphing utility.

The final image at the right shows the position of all seven slides above marked on one image. Note how the distance increases over time. Each vertical red line indicates the position of the cart in 0.20 second intervals.
