This unit is a slide set of images of a ball rolling off of a table. The images can be used to plot the position of a ball versus time. A suggestion would be to determine the most anterior position of the ball as the x coordinate and the very bottom of the ball as the y coordinate.

The easiest way to determine the position of the ball may be to mark the anterior position as shown by the vertical line and use it as the x-position. Determine the vertical (y) position of the ball by looking at the bottom of the ball. What happens to the position of the ball through each slide? A suggestion is to collect the data points and graph them on graph paper. Find a mathematical model for the horizontal and vertical position of the ball. |
