Transferring programs to the Calculator (TI Graph Link)

Each file when decompressed will have two TI group programs. One will be for the TI-82 and the other for the TI-83. Using the appropriate graphlink software (www.ti.com) and a Graph-Link cable connected to the modem port, send the program group to the calculator. Note: All programs run from this site require the use of LINKCK which is included in each set of programs.

Transferring TI-82 Programs (Macintosh)

Plug the Graph-Link cable into the modem port of the computer and the calculator port. Launch the TI-82 Graph-Link Software. From the "Send" menu, choose "Group". A dialog box will appear in the window. Select the appropriate folder where the group file is located. Click on the group file to be sent to the calculator and click on the OPEN button. A message will be displayed that programs are being sent to the calculator. Prior to clicking OK, set the calculator to receive the file. Press the LINK button which is the 2nd-X,T,O keys. Use the cursor key to move the selector to RECEIVE and press ENTER. The calculator should display the message "Waiting....". At this time, click on the SEND button of the TI-Graph Link Screen. The files will be transferred to the calculator. If the file is already on the calculator, a message will be displayed with the options to RENAME, OVERWRITE, OMIT, or QUIT.

Transferring TI-82 Programs (Windows)

Plug the Graph-Link cable into the modem port of the computer and the calculator port. Launch the TI-82 Graph-Link Software. From the "Link" menu, choose "Send". A dialog box will appear in the window. Select the appropriate directory where the group file is located. Prior to clicking OK, set the calculator to receive the file. Press the LINK button which is the 2nd-X,T,O keys. Use the cursor key to move the selector to RECEIVE and press ENTER. The calculator should display the message "Waiting....". At this time, click on the OK button of the TI-Graph Link Screen. The files will be transferred to the calculator. If the file is already on the calculator, a message will be displayed with the options to RENAME, OVERWRITE, OMIT, or QUIT.

Transferring TI-83 Programs (Macintosh)

Plug the Graph-Link cable into the modem port of the computer and the calculator port. Launch the TI-83 Graph-Link Software. Ungroup the programs to a new folder. (By using a new folder, you know specifically which programs came with this package.) From the "Tools" menu, choose "Ungroup TI-83 Files". In the left hand window, select the folder and group to use. Click on the group and Choose "Add". Click on the "Ungroup" button. Close the window. Make sure the calculator is turned on and at the Home screen. From Graph-Link, go to the "Send" menu and click on each program to be sent, followed by the "Add" button. When all of the programs have been selected, click on the "Send" button. The programs will be sent to the calculator without setting the calculator to receive mode. Any programs on the calculator with the same name will automatically be overwritten.

Transferring TI-83 Programs (Windows)

Plug the Graph-Link cable into the modem port of the computer and the calculator port. Launch the TI-83 Graph-Link Software. It is not necessary to ungroup the files in the windows version. Turn on the calculator and set it to the Home screen. From the "Link" menu, select "Send". (Note: If a link error is sent and the calculator is connected, I have found that turning the calculator off and back on again usually resolves the problem.) Choose the appropriate directory and file to be sent to the calculator. Click on the file and choose OK. A message box will display the files being sent and a dialog box will appear asking for a response if a file with the same name is found. Click on OK when all files have been sent.
