Glory Trip Minot AFB Group Photo
September 2002 "Glory Trip" U.S. Stratcom to Minot AFB and Vandenburg AFB
We flew from Offutt AFB, Bellevue, NE aboard a KC135 refueling tanker flown by the Nebraska Air National Guard from Lincoln, NE. Our first stop was at Minot AFB to see the B-52 Bomber Wing and Minuteman Missile Wing stationed at the base. I am in the brown jacket and khaki pants just at the bottom of the steps.

The missile launched at dusk and provided a magnificent display.

The plume is clearly visible in the photo as the missile heads toward the Pacific Ocean.
